Lebanese President: Lebanon will not be military base against Syria

BEIRUT– The Lebanese President Michel Sleiman stressed that Lebanon will not be a military base against Syria, reiterating rejection of interference in the internal affairs of others.

During a visit to the headquarters of the Lebanese Army Command, President Sleiman said "No to opening borders for smuggling into the Syrian territories," underscoring the efficiency of the Lebanese army in monitoring the borders.

He condemned the attempts of some political sides to undermine the reputation of the Lebanese army.
