Activities of the Resistance Women Forum kick off

DAMASCUS_ The activities of the 'Resistance Women Forum' kicked off on Saturday at al-Baath House in Damascus to commemorate the 12th anniversary of liberating South Lebanon from the Israeli occupation.

The Forum is organized by the Palestinian-Iranian Friendship Committee, in cooperation with the Iranian Cultural Center in Syria.

Sahar Jibril, who is in charge of the women activities at the Committee, said that Syria's hosting of this forum, its crisis notwithstanding, proves its support to resistance.

She added that the Palestinian woman has instilled the love for the homeland into her children, calling for bolstering the Palestinian internal front to confront the current circumstances on the Arab arena.

For her part, Chairperson of the General Women's Union of Syria, Majida Ktait , reviewed the current events in Syria which are intended to destroy the last bastion of resistance, adding that the Arab and Islamic world has always been the target of the West for the resources it possesses.

Catalon Shibani highlighted in a speech in the name of the Islamic Republic of Iran images of women's struggle, especially the women of resistance, and the great role of Iranian women in all fields.

Shibani said that the role of the Palestinian woman complements that of the Lebanese in steadfastness, considering that celebrating the liberation day reflects the woman's role in backing resistance.

She also hailed the role of the Syrian woman in combating colonialism , adding that ''The Syrian woman is making history through the sacrifices she is offering.''

Participants underlined the importance of the axis of resistance in redressing the balance of regional and international powers, adding that what is currently taking place in Syria is intended to undermine its national stances and rejection of hegemonic projects.
