Members of Supreme Constitutional Court sworn in before President al-Assad

DAMASCUS- Members of the Supreme Constitutional Court (SCC), Judge Raslan Ali Tarabulsi Mattar, Judge Malek Kamal Sharaf and Dr. Jamila Msallam al-Shurbaji, recently nominated by decree No. 173 for 2012, on Thursday were sworn in before President Bashar al-Assad.

Afterwards, President al-Assad received the Court's members and stressed to them the importance of the Court's role in terms of the constitutionality of laws and the honesty of the presidential and legislative elections, particularly after approving the new constitution and the recently-conducted legislative elections.

The President wished the SCC members success in their mission.
