Israeli occupation issues arbitrary 8-month prison sentence against a doctor from occupied Golan

QUNEITRA– An Israeli court in the occupied city of al-Nasera arbitrary sentenced Dr. Mahmoud Hafez Mahmoud from Majdal Shams town to 8-month imprisonment after he was arrested last June on charges of participating in marking al-Nakseh Day and al-Nakba Day along with other Syrian and Palestinian youths.

Mahmoud's family stressed their rejection of the Israeli practices against the people of occupied Golan, reiterating commitment to the Syrian Arab identity.

Governor of Quneitra, Malek Mohammad Ali, referred to the continuous Israeli transgressions s against the Golan people such as issuing unfair sentences, starting deliberate fires, burying nuclear waste in the Golan and stealing its water amid a shameful international silence.

Over the past three days, the occupation authorities issued sentences against Golan youths on charges of resisting the occupation. They are Fedaa al-Wali, Baian, Ewydat and Yasser Khanjar and Wajdi Farhat.
